AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising crossover event that challenges conventional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of forbidden rituals and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret sect.
The questline focuses on "peculiar trials and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Extra Features
Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an unique katana in addition to several items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns.
